Residential

Ocean Reef, Key Largo

Situated on Florida's coast, this project involved a partial demolition and adding a two-story extension with an interior courtyard and infinity pool. A French-style trellis entrance in a fresh green color was designed to announce the “tropics” opening act. We did away with the dining room though the hostess loves to entertain and instead created three different eating areas inside and out. The original dining area was set up as a display table for orchids that doubled as a dining table during inclement weather. The homeowners desired a stylishly sophisticated seaside residence with several out-door spaces to gather and enjoy life. The paint colors and treatments were selected to reflect the tropical location. Their vision was turned into reality by adding whimsical touches such as the painted ceiling with the famous local parrots, custom paint color treatments and rugs with tropical motifs. And of course a pineapple finial on the staircase post to indicate “Welcome” to all who enter.
